New Work by Lauren Beacham – Amazingness!

You may remember Lauren Beacham from when we had her Polaroid necklaces and earrings in the 50/50/50 show last year. She has gone even further with the Polaroid concept and made these beautiful and interesting ceramic tile clocks, nightlights, and lamps.

These are some of my favorites:

Come in and take a look! Makes a great last-minute holiday gift!

Visit our Flickr to see more photos of Lauren’s work.

Holiday Hours:
December 24 – 29 we will be closed.
We WILL be open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day for our regular hours.

Salon 100 Reception and the Next Wave

Come join us FRIDAY NIGHT, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm for a fun evening of art, conversation, and refreshments. The artist’s reception for our current show, Salon 100, will be held in conjunction with the Algoma Art Wave — so this is a great time to make the drive to Algoma and check out the different artists and venues that we have to offer here.

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served including gourmet cheeses, wine, and holiday cookies. So bring a friend and stop by!

Salon 100 features a wide variety of artists and styles–and all work is priced at only $100. Many artists are from the Northeast WI area, making this a great show to not only support your local artists but also your local gallery! Best of all, you can take purchased work home right away if you like.

We want to thank you for all the support you have shown us this year — looking back at all the great artwork we have brought to Algoma, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Finish up your holiday shopping with a handmade gift or gift card. Buy local and buy handmade this year – it really makes a difference! We have a few specials running right now:

25% off selected jewelry designs by Kim Geiser and Brandon Hemm

20% off Gift Cards

–With every purchase, you will get a coupon for a free $10 gift card with your next purchase of $50 or more. (For those of you on our mailing list, you will be receiving this coupon in the mail. Click here to easily sign up to receive these mailings)

seeking new makers/crafters/designers

The busy season is quickly approaching! We are currently accepting submissions for handmade items on consignment. I am especially looking for unique designs and products, so if this sounds like you, please email me at sarah@theeclipsegallery.com  ASAP as space is limited!

Take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions:

What kinds of things are you looking for?

We are looking for cutting-edge, contemporary artwork, fine craft, and handmade design. We only accept handmade work of the highest craftsmanship & quality. We prefer work that does not duplicate or closely resemble anything that is currently in our gallery & store, or other galleries & stores. We also like to work with artists who have a cohesive body of work, in order to have an effective display. We accept submissions from both emerging & established artists. We LOVE art and design that is made from natural and/or recycled materials, or is in some other way earth-friendly, but it doesn’t have to be.

Some things we need right now include:

natural personal care products (100% handmade)
small, lower priced items like magnets, photo frames, etc.
accessories
handmade art/craft supplies (like hand carded/dyed wool yarn)
paper goods
furniture
artist books and zines
children’s items
candles
glass ware
household items
you get the idea :)

some things we do not need are: jewelry, ceramics, and bags/purses

How does this work?

You set the retail price for your work. We charge a fee of 40% of the retail price for each item sold. That means you get 60% of each item you sell through our store AND you don’t have to worry about any of the costs associated with running an art & design gallery. Your work may also be included on our website for online sale (not on Etsy). You only get charged if an item sells, there are no registration or hidden fees. You are responsible for delivering the artwork and/or handmade goods to our store. You are free to withdraw your goods from the store at anytime, but you are responsible for the pick-up or return shipping.

When will I get paid?

Every 30 days we send you a check directly. We also supply you with a report of exactly which items you have sold, and what you still have in our inventory. No phone calls to check on sales or inventory, please. We will be too busy selling your work!

Is there a contract to sign?

Yes. If we decide to consign your artwork and/or handmade goods, we will e-mail you a contract and an inventory list  that you can print out and include in your shipment of artwork/goods. That way, we are both protected and you can rest easy.

I want to consign my work with you. Now what do I do?

Send us your submission by e-mailing us 5-7 images of your work along with a brief description. Make sure to include your contact information, the price range of your work, a short bio, and your artist statement, if applicable. Also include any links where we can see more examples of your work.  Our e-mail address is sarah@theeclipsegallery.com

What should I expect after sending a submission?

We will take about a week or so to review your application. If we choose to accept your work, we will send you an e-mail back and give you further instructions. We can answer any other questions that you have at that time.

Do you take wholesale orders?

We may wholesale orders for certain items or if you have consigned with us before and have a proven track record.

Do you accept International consignments?

Not at this time, although this may change in the future.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail us at sarah@theeclipsegallery.com

Thank you for your interest!

New at Eclipse!

Looking for a truly unique gift? Keep us in mind for your holiday shopping! We have some new and exciting things at the gallery, including these great treasure boxes made with found objects and handmade paper by local artist Kirsten Christanson! I have been busy making one-of-a-kind fabric Christmas tree ornaments. Hand-sewn and whimsical, they make a great gift or interesting addition to your holiday decorating. You can find a selection here–with FREE shipping if you can’t make it to Algoma!

Only $12 each!

Not to mention all the unique art, craft, and design that we have featured in our current exhibition, 50 Artists, 50 States, 50 Mediums–all of which would make a great gift or addition to your personal collection. The show only runs through December 31st so plan a visit soon!

Free Art Friday!!

Has a nice ring to it, yes? We are adding our own spin onto the Free Art Friday (FAF) concept. Normally, FAF is when an artist places work on the street for a passerby to pick up. (see this link) Which is awesome, but we are just going to give some art away to a lucky customer every Friday.

Each Friday we will have a different work of art and a different criteria for our little FAF giveaways.
Today is your choice of a set of Aijung Kim artist books and stationery, A shell pendant by Brandon, or an original collage postcard by Art Junk Girl.
